We believe that the key factor in successful horse breeding is a good herd of brood mares out of proven bloodlines. True to this belief, all our mares came from the famous Welsh Cob studs Menai, Nebo and Geler, or are based mainly on blood lines such as Deroks Welsh Model, H-S Rachel and our home bred Bergtor mares. The breed of our mares fits perfectly to our current stud stallions Menai Firelight, H-S Major Tom and Flavo Cliff. It is our intention to have 8 to 10 brood mares at Bergtor and to breed 4 to 6 foals of excellent type and movement per year. We are not interested in breeding large quantities of foals but rather to breed foals of supreme quality. Keeping the number low ensures we have healthy and well adjusted foals.
