24th November 2011
We have sold Bergtor Max Power. Today we have brought Max to his new home in
Fritzlar. He is staying ont far away from us, so we could follow his further
development. We are lucky that his new owner is so kind and with lot of horse
knowledge.

We are proud and happy to announce that Pennal Sam arrived at Bergtor Stud.
We recognized this very impressive, excellent moving colt foal during our visit
at Pennal Stud in July. When we got the information that he would be available,
we took the opportunity. We like to express our gratitude to Sian and Dai Harris
from Pennal Stud that we could get Sam for our Bergtor Stud!
01st October 2011
The 3 years old Welsh Cob colt Bergtor Maverick was shown by his owner
Alexandra Brede and her team at the South of Germany Stallion Licensing
Competition.
With excellent movement, very good jumping and well balanced temper Maverick
made great impression to the audience and obviously to the judges. He got his
stallion licence, got a special award, was Champion of all Welsh stallions and
at the end in addition Overall Champion of the competition. Meverick was well
prepared and was excellent presented by Olli and Steffi. For us it was an
interesting and exciting day. We are very happy about the result and we wish
Alex and Maverick all the best for the future.
09th – 11th September 2011
From Friday to Sunday we had our traditional riding weekend with our friends
the families Magel and Aslan. This time the event was very well organized by
Kirsten and Ali Aslan in Diezhölztal. We had some great riding tours through the
beautiful mountains of the “Rothaargebirge”. The weather was very good and
between our riding tours we had delicious barbecue.

Today Bergtor Candy Doll moved to her new owners in Lohra near Marburg. We
wish the new owners a lot of fun and success with Candy.
19th – 21th August 2011
We joined the national German IG Welsh Show at Neustadt Dosse near Berlin.
Katharina started with her mare Bergtor Momo in some riding competitions with
good success.
She reached a very good 5th place in a rideability competition, 4th places in
the cross country competition and in Junior Handling and a 1st place in a
jumping competition. With these results she reached also the 2nd place in the
combination.
With Bergtor Megan we started also in the in-hand competition. Megan was placed
3rd in the class of 1 and 2 years old Welsh Cobs. Within the class she was best
German breed and best yearling Welsh cob.
Beside the official part of the show it was a great social event and the Welsh
Evening turned to really good party. We met a lot of old and some new friends.
It was a nice and chummy weekend.

At the regional Foal Show of the local breeding association (Zentrale
Verbandsfohlenschau) we started with Bergtor Liza Minelli and Bergtor Lady
Marian in the filly foal class and with Bergtor Freddy Mercury in the colt foal
class. Bergtor Freddy Mercury was placed 5th of all cob foals, Bergtor Liza
Minelli was placed 3rd and Bergtor Lady Marian was placed 1st in the filly foal
class, was Welsh Cob foal champion and in addition Reserve Champion foal of all
Welsh foals shown.

Today we were informed that our friends Sabine and Lothar take part with
Bergtor Midnight Lady (Bergtor Momo x Menai Sparkling Magic) at the Pony Trophy
in Herbsen. It was a competition for ponies ridden by young children. Lady
started with 3 kids. 2 of them were the first time sitting on a pony. Lady
reached the places 3, 4 and 5 with the kids and went the 3 times very relaxed
through the course.
15th - 28th July
We have spent our summer holidays in Wales and visited there the Royal Welsh
Show. The Show was again a great event. Although we watched mainly the Welsh
Cobs classes at the Main Ring there were a lot of other very interesting
attractions for us. We met some old and also some new friends.
At the days after the Show we visited some very interesting Welsh Cob Studs. It
was a great pleasure for us to meet all the experienced breeders and to see all
the beautiful and famous Welsh Cobs. We would like to express our gratitude to
all Studs we visited for the warm welcome and the hospitality.

We made some new photos of Geler Lois filly foal. After several discussions
it was agreed in the Family to name the filly “Bergtor Liza Minelli”.
02nd – 03rd July 2011
We joint the regional show in Ernsgarden Bavarya with our mare Bergtor
Mdleen and her filly foal Bergtor Lady Marian. Judges for the in-hand classes
were Geraint Jones (Nebo) and Henk van Dijk (Ruska/River). On Saturday before
the show the regional association organized a nice breeders evening. Rupert
Nutz, the chairman of the local IG-Welsh organization celebrated his birthday at
the event. We met many Welsh enthusiasts and had a lot of fun.
On Sunday the in-hand show started early in the morning with the foal classes.
Our Marian was placed first in the class of Welsh Cob foals and reached at the
end also the reserve foal championship of the show.
Madleen was placed second in the class of the Welsh Cob mares behind Markus
Bauers well known Rhyfedd Koh I Noor. In the same order the two mares could also
win the Welsh Cob Championship. With each round in the ring Madleen showed more
action and power. So at the end of the day Madleen was very much to our surprise
in addition placed as Reserve Supreme Champion of the Show.

Today we took some new photos from Menai Cardi Doll and her colt foal
Bergtor Freddy Mercury. The colt is developing very well. He is very tall and
strong but a good mover with a lot of type and charme.

Today some days before the expected date Menai Cardi Doll got a strong colt foal
by Menai Firelight. The colt is bay, with 2 white socks and a nice star. As
Firelight and Cardi are both more than 15.3 hands tall we expect that the colt
will also make more than 15 hands.

Today we got a bay filly foal with 3 white socks from Geler Lois by H-S
Major Tom. It is a tall and beautiful filly and it seems she will be a very good
mover.

Bergtor Madleen got her first foal. It is a charming bay filly foal by H-S Major
Tom. We will name the filly "Bergtor Marian".

We got the first foal in 2011. It is a very nice filly foal out of Nebo Lady
Jane by Menai Firelight.
January 17 – 20, 2011
With our young stallion H-S Major Tom we joined the central German Show for
Sport Pony Stallions in Berlin. Tommi was the representative Welsh Cob stallion
of our local Hessian Pony breeding association. He reached the 3. place in the
in hand competition and was placed 6th out of 42 in the jumping competition
joined by many different pony breeds. It seems that his unexpected jump above
the judge table was very impressive to the judges. They appraised his ability to
jump with the highest score allocated at that day.

Unfortunately the day before Christmas we lost Johanna´s 3-year old filly
Bergtor Miss Lilly due to an accident. We all at Bergtor are very sad and miss
her a lot.

At the regional Foal Show of the local breeding association (Zentrale
Verbandsfohlenschau) we started with Bergtor Roselyn and Bergtor Megan in the
filly foal class and with Bergtor Finley in the colt foal class. Bergtor Finley
was placed 1st in his class. Bergtor Roselyn was placed 3rd and Bergtor Megan
was placed 1st in the filly foal class. In addition Bergtor Megan was Reserve
Champion foal of all Welsh foals shown.

11th September 2010
H-S Major Tom was at the 30 days stallion test. He reached the 1. place in
the riding pony group. From all stallions riding and driving he was 3.
He got the best results in pleasentness, motivation, free jumping, prcours
jumping, cross contry and dressage.
13th – 15th August 2010
We joined the national German IG Welsh Show.
Katharina started with her mare Bergtor Momo in some riding competitions with
good success. With Geler Lois and Bergtor Madleen we started also in the in-hand
competition. Lois was placed 4th and Medleen was placed 2nd in their class. In
addition Medleen coud reach the 2nd place in the Welsh Derby (competition of 3
years old Welsh Ponies and Cobs from all sections).
Together with our friends the families Magel, Aslan and Steffi and Christa
Brüggenolte we had again a joint tent camp. We met a lot of old and some new
friends. It was a nice and chummy weekend.
11th July 2010
With our young stallion H-S Major Tom we started at the in-hand show at the
regional IG Welsh Show in Ostharingen/Niedersachsen. Tom was again champion
section D and could also win again the overall championship of the show.

Today we got an outstanding filly foal out of Deroks Welsh Model by H-S Major
Tom. She has 4 white socks and a nice blaze. The filly is from both sides a
sister of Bergtor Miss Lilly and Bergtor Red Marvel. It seems that she has the
same good moving and welsh type as her older siblings.
13th June 2010
Johanna and Katharina started at the regional IG-Welsh Show in several riding
classes with SHE Sunny Boy and Bergtor Momo. They had a lot of fun but kept some
room for improvement ;-)
With our young stallion H-S Major Tom we started in the in-hand show. Tom was
champion section D and could also win the overall championship of the show.
04th -06th June 2010
We had our traditional trail riding weekend with our friends the families Aslan
and Magel. We stayed the 3 days on one of our fields in the forest “Reinhardswald”.
On Sunday our team was supported by our friend Steffi Brügenolte. We had some
nice long riding tours. We spent most of the time between the tours with
barbecue and cool drinks.

We could reach a family agreement on the names of our two foals out of Rachel
and Meggy May. The colt foal is named “Bergtor Finley” and the filly foal is
named “Bergtor Roselyn”

A workshop on digital photography and preparation of Welsh Ponys and Cobs for
showing took place at our stud. Speaker were Ilka Rosentahl and Moritz
Meckelburger. Ilka showed the preparation of a Cob in practice with our 3 years
old mare Bergtor Madleen. In parallel Moritz informed the other part of the
participants about expert knowledge on digital photography. After launch break
the “photographer” had the chance to test their new knowledge with Bergtor
Madleen and the stallion H-S Major Tom.

Tonight we got the second foal. It is a tall braun colt foal out of Bergtor
Meggy May and by Menai Firelight.

Today we got our first 2010 foal. It is a beautyful filly foal out of H-S Rachel
by H-S Major Tom.

We had a beautiful sunny day and used the opportunity to take some photos from
H-S Major Tom and his 2009 foals Max Power (H-S Rachel) and Candy Doll (Menai
Cardi Doll).
17th January 2010
We had the first time all our nine mares on the grazing land in the snow.
They blustered a lot. It was really funny. Unfortunately it was very cloudy so
we could not take good photos.

We have sold Bergtor Rosanne. Today we have brought Rosanne to her new home
in Bad Iburg. In their new herd of Welsh Cobs she will meet Bergtor Ma Fleure.
We are lucky that the new owner are so kind and with lot of horse knowledge.

Since years we got the first time enough snow to drive with our sleigh. We drove
the first time with Bergtor Momo, the mare of our daughter Katharina. Momo made
it very well and we had a lot of fun!

Today our purchase oft he last visit in Wales arrived at Bergtor Stud. It is
the wonderful 5 years old Welsh Cob mare Geler Lois. We are very proud to have
Lois in Germany at our stud. We like to express our gratitude to the Lloyd
Family from Geler Stud that they have sold Lois to us!

At the regional Foal Show of the local breeding association (Zentrale
Verbandsfohlenschau) we started with Bergtor Candy Doll in the filly foal class
and with Bergtor Red Marvel in the colt foal class. Due to an accident with the
fence in the field Max power could not be shown. Bergtor Red Marvel was placed
1st in his class and Candy Doll was 4th in her class. Both foals were awarded
(Prämienfohlen) from the association.
21st – 22nd August 2009
We started with our yearling filly Bergtor Miss Lilly at the International
Welsh Show in Kootwijk in the Netherlands. In general it was a well organized
show with good atmosphere. We have met a lot of nice Welsh enthusiasts.
Unfortunately Regina had an accident directly on Friday after arrival and had
big problems with her leg for the rest of the show. With Miss Lilly we have won
mainly on experience. She was last in her class. According to our opinion she
was in good condition but for an International Show it was really not enough.
14th – 16th August 2009
Regina and Katharina started at the national German IG-Welsh Show
(Bundesschau) with Bergtor Momo in several riding classes. Katharina was 1st in
trail riding for young riders. They managed also all other classes very well.
With our colt foal Bergtor Max Power and his dam H-S Rachel we started in
in-hand classes. Max Power was placed 2nd and Rachel 3rd in their classes.
10th August 2009
We have sold Menhir Mandy and her colt foal Bergtor Filou. Today they moved
to their new home. In their new herd of Welsh Cobs they will meet Bergtor
Macarena. We are lucky that Nicole and Heiko are the new owners from Mandy and
Filou.

Today we have had a stud visit from Ursula and Matthias from TripleG Welsh
Cob Stud. We have visited the mares and foals and had also a walk to the
youngstock. It was a nice day. Matthias made a lot of good photos. Thanks for
the copies!

H-S Major Tom is he first time running with the mares and foals in the
fields. He is very kind to the foals and also to the mares.
17th – 28th of July 2009
We have been in Wales and have visited the Royal Welsh Show and some Welsh
Studs. We have been at Crugybar, Menai, Nebo, Geler, Deicin and Danaway. We
would like to Thank all the studs for their warm welcome! To see al these famous
cobs was very impressive to us.
We have had also some horse free days in Wales for sight seeing and other
activities. Although the weather was very bad it was a very interesting journey
for us.

Short before our journey to Wales the last foal for 2009 was born. It is a
very nice colt foal out of Deroks Welsh Model by H-S Major Tom. He is chestnut
and has 4 white socks. It seems that he will be a good mover.
28th of June 2009
We have been at the regional IG-Welsh Show at Rheinland. We went already on
Saturday to Lyn and Martin (Sadiqui Stud) where we had a box for our yearling
filly Miss Lilly. At Saturday evening we have had a barbecue with nice people.
On Sunday it was a small but very nice show with a judge from Wiston Stud,
Wales. Miss Lilly was placed 2nd in her class behind the later overall youth
champion H-S Sam.
Steffi has won with her gelding Bergtor Charlino the gelding class. We are
looking forward to the IG-Welsh Show at Rheinland next year.

At Reginas birthday we got the foal from Menhir Mandy and Menai Firelight.
It is a srong colt black foal.
07th of June 2009
We started at the regional IG-Welsh Show in Alsfeld in the in-hand classes
with our mare Bergtor Meggy May and with our yearling fill Bergtor Miss Lilly.
Judge was Mr P. de Rade form Zonneweide Stud. Meggy may was Reserve Champion
Welsh Cob and Miss Lilly was Overall Youth Champion. Beside this stud success
Steffi has won with her gelding Bergtor Charlino also the big gelding class.
Beside the in-hand classes Katharina started with her Bergtor Momo also in some
sport classes. They did it very well but there is still romm zo improve.

We took some new photos form H-S Rachel and her colt foal. The colt
developed very well. The family has decided to name the colt Bergtor Max Power.
16th of May 2009
Today we got on time the foal from Menai Cardy Doll and H-S Major Tom. It is
a very nice and strong bay filly foal. She was named Bergtor Candy Doll.

Later then expected we got today the first foal in 2009. It is a tall and
handsome bay colt foal out of H-S Rachel by H-S Major Tom.
